The U.S. Department of Labor announced last week that Hope Renovations is one of seven organizations selected for the prestigious Women in Apprenticeship & Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) grant. The award, worth more than $700,000 over two years, will triple Hope’s impact by helping fund Hope’s expansion to Durham and Wake Counties!
The WANTO program seeks to increase employment of women in apprenticeships and nontraditional occupations by supporting community-based organizations that develop pre-apprenticeship programs to help women succeed in industries where they are typically underrepresented.
The Triangle-wide expansion (Wake County, and now Durham County) is the first step in our ultimate dream of operating statewide… and one day, all across the nation!
